Mastering Medication Tracking: Never Run Out Again!

Are you often puzzled about when to request a medication refill? This question frequently pops up among my patients. But worry not, as I have a simple and foolproof tip to help you effortlessly track your meds and ensure you never run out.

Once you receive a fresh medication bottle, grab a handy sticky note or any writable surface and jot down your essential information. Don't forget to note the quantity of medication present in your bottle. For instance, if you have a 1ml vial, it contains 100 units. Keep in mind to focus on the QUANTITY, not the STRENGTH of the medication (strength, such as 2.5mg/ml, is a different aspect). Now, with each dose you take, just subtract it from the total quantity. Voilà! To maintain a comfortable buffer, I advise my patients to schedule a follow-up when they have only two doses left. Do note that this might vary based on where your provider orders your medication.

Already have a bottle on hand? No worries, here's a straightforward approach. Use one of your syringes to withdraw all the medication from the bottle and determine how many units are left. Jot this down on your note and carefully return the medication to the vial. From there, continue with the same process discussed earlier.

By adopting this method, you can finally put your worries to rest and be confident that you'll never run out of your essential medication.

And if you want to take your medication tracking to the next level, I've designed a specialized journal catered to those taking semaglutide to tirzapetide for weight loss. This journal not only allows you to keep track of your units but also provides a wealth of other helpful information. Check it out HERE.

With this newfound knowledge, you're all set to manage your medication like a pro and focus on your well-being. Happy tracking!
