How Glutathione Can Help You Shed Pounds: The Surprising Connection Between Antioxidants and Weight Loss

Glutathione is a small molecule that plays a crucial role in maintaining the health of our cells.  It is made up of three amino acids (the building blocks of proteins) - cysteine, glycine, and glutamine - and it is produced naturally in our bodies. 


One of the main functions of glutathione is to act as an antioxidant, which means it helps protect our cells from damage caused by free radicals.  Free radicals are unstable molecules that can damage our cells and lead to inflammation and a variety of health problems, including cancer, heart disease, weight gain, and Alzheimer’s disease. 


Glutathione also plays a role in detoxification by helping remove harmful toxins from our bodies.  It does this by binding to toxins and other harmful substances and making them easier for our bodies to eliminate. 


In addition to its antioxidant and detoxification functions, it also helps the immune system.  Glutathione helps regulate the activity of immune cells and make sure they are working properly to help fight off infections and diseases. 


Some studies have suggested that low levels of glutathione may be linked to insulin resistance, which can contribute to weight gain and other metabolic problems.
