Two Questions to Guide Your Ideal Peptide Dose:

One question I get asked often is when to adjust your dose of injectable peptides.

For my patients, I instruct them to take the initial introduction dose for the first two weeks.  This medication lasts a long time (hence the reason it is just necessary to take one injection per week) and because of that, it takes a while to fully get into your system.  So give it two weeks at the smallest dose before making any changes.

After that then consider the following 2 questions:

  • How is your appetite?  Is it suppressed?

  • Are you having bothersome side effects?

If your appetite is suppressed and you are eating less overall then I would recommend you stay at your current dose.  Remember, more isn’t better.  The least effective dose is the goal.

If you are having a lot of side effects then you should REDUCE your dose and contact your prescriber to discuss it further.

Over time it is likely you will need to gradually increase your dose (I recommend no more than 10u at a time) to continue to suppress your appetite.  Over time side effects typically subside as well which will allow you to tolerate the increased dose.

As always, if you have questions always discuss these with your provider!
